Dental Insurance works much differently than medical insurance. Most dental insurance only covers $1000-2500 a year. As the patient you will be responsible for a portion of the treatment cost even if you have not used your benefits

For example, most dental insurance only cover 50% of crowns; so the patient will be responsible for the other 50% of the crown.

Most insurances cover an exam & healthy mouth cleaning twice a year 100%.

If you have dental insurance through your job or spouse we highly recommend using your preventative benefits so you can catch issues early and avoid higher costs to fix cavities later.  However, if you are considering getting dental insurance, but don't already have it, we suggest to schedule a visit at the New Patient Special rate of $79 to get details on the treatment you may need to determine if dental insurance would even benefit you.

If you have numerous teeth that need help and need to get it done soon, it may be better to finance the treatment and skip dental insurance all together. We are happy to help give you information to allow you to make the most informed decision

Office Policy

At StLucie Center for Cosmetic Dentistry an appointment is an agreement between you and your doctor. We value your time and this reserved appointment is to advise and educate you to make the best choices for a lifetime of good dental health. We make every effort to set aside an appointment time specifically for you, and consequently we ask patients to honor the appointments they set.

We also understand that your schedule may change unexpectedly. As a courtesy to the doctors and other patients, please provide us with at least 48 hours notice if you need to reschedule your appointment.  For this reason, any appointment changes or cancellations made within 48 hours will be charged a $75.00 broken appointment fee.

Post Op Instructions

AFTER CARE

When it comes to dental after care, we ask that you follow the instructions below carefully. They will greatly assist you in having a smooth recovery from your surgical procedures. Your results not only depend on the actual procedure but also on the quality of the dental after care.

1. Swelling Control:

  • Place an ice bag on the outside of the face that corresponds to the operative site. Alternate 15 minutes on and 10 minutes off for at least two to three hours.

 2. Bleeding Control:

  • Keep firm pressure with gauze over the surgical site for at least two hours – changing the gauze frequently, as it becomes soiled.
  • Do not rinse your mouth for at least 24 hours.
  • Do not drink from a straw for 24 hours.
  • Avoid smoking for at least 24 hours – and longer, if possible.
  • If bleeding still persists, place a moist tea bag over the surgical site, and apply firm biting pressure.

3. Comfort Control:

  • Take pain medication as prescribed.
  • Stay away from extremes in temperature and spices.
  • Keep to a softer diet for at least 24 hours.

4. Hygiene control:

  • Starting 24 hours after the surgery, begin salt & water or peroxide and water rinses four times per day for one to two weeks.
  • Light brushing around the surgical site should be started at this time, as well. Brush more vigorously each day as comfort allows.

Call us at 772-878-5000 should there be any questions or excessive pain and discomfort.
