How does Invisalign work?

1. First schedule your consult apponitment for clear braces consultation in our Port St. Lucie office to have an exam with our dentist. During your exam the dentist will confirm if you are a canidate for Invislaign and explain details involved in your case to get your desired outcome. 2. If you are canidate, the next step is to get impressions (or molds) taken of your teeth. This can be done on the same day as your exam! 3. Wait 2-4 weeks for custom clear aligners trays to be fabricated. You will have a scheduled appointment back in our office to pick up your trays and get your teeth transformation offically underway! 4) Next, you will simply wear your Invisalign trays them as much as possible for a few weeks at a time. The trays gradually adjust your teeth to become straigher, close gaps, and turn and alter direction of your teeth. 5) Periodically you will come back into the dental office to have the dentist check on the progress and movement. They will make any necessary adjustments as needed. 6. The final step is choose your retainer option to keep your teeth in place. You have option of Vivera clear aligner retainters or bonded retainers. Teeth will always want to move back to their original place so its necessary to wear retainers to maintain your new straight smile!

What happens when I’m done with my Invisalign treatment?

If you had attachments or buttons attached to your teeth those will be removed at your last visit. Many patient choose to whiten thier teeth when they are done with Invisalign (you can use your trays to whiten while wearing the trays!) And finally you will dedice on they type of retainer you choose wear. Teeth have a tendancy to move back to their original place and therfore its always recommended to wear a retainer for life to ensure you maintain the placement of your teeth. Options for retainers include: Wearing final invisalign trays Vivera aligner retainer bonded retainer
