• It is common for dentures to need a few adjustments after you first get them due to sore spots.

• Mild Irritation and sore spots are completely normal.

• You can rinse with warm salt water to help heal any sore spots & come in the office to relieve the area with an adjustment.

• Give it a few weeks and a couple adjustments to get used to your denture.  The end result will never feel as natural

       as your real teeth; but you should not experience constant discomfort.

My dentures won’t stay in, what can I do?

• Call your dentist to schedule for an adjustment

• Overtime gums can shrink, and you may need to consider getting a reline on your denture.

• Use dental adhesive.

• Can consider getting implants (if you’re a candidate) so your denture snaps in and has more resistance.

What to expect when getting an immediate denture?

• You will leave the office with teeth after your procedure is done.

• You can salivate more than usual, only temporary until your mouth gets use to the dentures.

• May need adjustments.

• Sore spots can occur.

• Can develop a temporary lisp or feel different when speaking, that will subside in a few weeks when your tongue and lips get use to the dentures being in your mouth.

• Your 1^st set after a procedure can feel large or a mouth full, your 2^nd set after your gums are healed will fit much better and will be easier for you to get use to than your 1^st set.

• Food can get stuck underneath your denture, take them out and give it a rinse and put back in.
